Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz expects running back Kamari Moulton to play in Friday night’s Big Ten opener at Rutgers. Moulton was injured in the Hawkeyes season opening win over Albany. On the down side, redshirt freshman running back Xavier Williams will miss the game after getting injured against UMass.

Moulton’s big play ability will be a plus for an Iowa offense that has struggled creating explosive plays in the first three games.

Ferentz feels the passing game is making progress but dropped passes remain an issue.

Iowa’s defense has given up only 30 points in three games but Ferentz says there have been too many missed tackles.

Iowa missed a P-A-T and had a punt blocked against UMass. Ferentz says with the start of Big Ten play those kinds of breakdowns will be costly.
