Iowa passing game struggles in win over Albany
August 31st, 2025 by Ric Hanson
Iowa quarterback Mark Gronowski says he was happy with the win but disappointed in his performance in a 34-7 win over Albany. The Hawkeyes compiled 310 yards of rushing but the passing game struggled. Gronowski finished 8-of-15 for 44 yards and a touchdown before being listed in the third quarter while dealing with leg cramps.
Gronowski says they hope the passing game can make progress heading into the game against Iowa State.
Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz felt Gronowski was too anxious.
Ferentz says Gronowski’s ability to run is an added bonus.
