Iowa baseball coach Rick Heller says Cade Obermueller could return to the mound if the Hawkeyes make it to Sunday’s championship game at the Big Ten baseball tournament in Omaha. Obernueller tossed seven scoreless innings on Wednesday night in the Hawkeyes 4-3 win over Rutgers.

The Hawkeyes play 13th ranked UCLA in Saturday’s semifinal round. Heller says having played fourth ranked Oregon and seventh ranked Oregon State the last two weeks will be good preparation.

Heller says against elite teams mistakes become magnified.

The Hawkeyes were blanked by Indiana 5-0 on Thursday night to close out pool play.
