Dinnibier Awarded With Another MVC Player Of The Week Honor

ST. LOUIS, Mo. –Drake senior Katie Dinnebier earned her eighth MVC Player of the Week award after averaging over 30 points in two league wins last weekend.
Dinnebier’s dominant senior season continued last weekend as the Bulldogs took down Indiana State in their home finale and went into Cedar Falls to beat rival UNI. Dinnebier averaged 35.5 points, 8.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 62 percent from the field, 61 percent from 3-point range, and 92 percent from the free throw line. The Drake point guard began the week with a 33-point, 10-assist double-double, her seventh of the year, in a 107-86 win over the Sycamores. Dinnebier followed that outing with 36 points, seven assists, and a 7-of-10 3-point shooting performance at UNI. Dinnebier now has nine 30-plus point games this season, including four in her last five contests, to lead all of NCAA hoops in that category. She is currently averaging 22.2 points, 7.5 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.4 steals while hitting field goals at 52 percent and 3-point baskets at 41 percent.

Dinnebier and Drake will conclude their regular season schedule this weekend with trips to Valparaiso (Mar. 6) and UIC (Mar. 8) before tipping off postseason play at the MVC Women’s Basketball Tournament in Evansville, Ind.
