Harrison County man found guilty of 1st Degree Murder

(Logan, Iowa) – A man from Harrison County was found guilty, Friday, of 1st Degree Murder. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation reports it took less than three hours of deliberation for a jury to find 23-year-old Sebastin Reece O’Brien, of Little Sioux, guilty in the April 21, 2024 death in rural Harrison County, of 53-year-old Douglas Lynn Manly, of Missouri Valley.
After killing Manly, O’Brien stole Manly’s truck, fled the scene, and ultimately wrecked the truck. O’Brien was apprehended by Harrison County Sheriff’s Office deputies near the scene of the accident.
