The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a

* Flood Warning for Small Streams in…
Northern Montgomery County in southwestern Iowa…
Northern Mills County in southwestern Iowa…
Pottawattamie County in southwestern Iowa…

* Until 1230 PM CDT.

* At 634 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause flooding. Radar estimates of two to three inches of rain have fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Council Bluffs, Glenwood, Oakland, Treynor, Underwood, Carson,
Walnut, Pacific Junction, Elliott, Macedonia, Crescent, Silver
City, Hancock, Henderson, Hastings, McClelland, Grant, Old Town
Park, Lake Manawa State Park and Farm Creek Public Wildlife Area.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to one and one-half inches are possible in the warned area.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 29 between mile markers 35 and 50, and near mile marker 56.
Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 3 and 20.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
