The National Weather Service in Des Moines says  near Record Highs are possible again today. One last day of unusually high heat and humidity can be expected
to end the weekend. Highs, which will be at or near records, will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s today with peak heat indices a few degrees higher.

People planning and attending outdoor events and activities, especially those participating in athletic events, should be cognizant of these unusually warm and humid conditions. Take breaks from the sun and heat if possible, and stay well hydrated with plenty of water.

The Advisory covers the central two-thirds of Iowa.  In our area, that includes the Cities of Atlantic, Audubon, Bedford, Carroll, Corning, Clarinda, Creston, Denison, Greenfield, Guthrie Center and Mt. Ayr.
