The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is reporting two accidents took place over the past couple of weeks. On October 14th,deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at 3rd and Locust Streets in Anita. A 2008 Chevy Silverado owned and driven by 53-year old David Alan Hockenberry,  of Anita, was northbound on Locust Street when it was struck by an eastbound 2012 Buick owned and driven by 81-year old Gloria Ruth Turner, of Anita, when Turner failed to yield at a stop sign. No injuries were reported. Damage to Hockenberry’s vehicle is estimated at $1,500; damage to Turner’s vehicle is estimated at $2,500. Turner was cited for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.

And, on October 22nd, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident on 590th Street ¼ mile south of Quincy Road. A 2008 Jeep Liberty driven by 43-year old Katherine Jean Bellmyer, of Griswold, was northbound on 590th Street when the vehicle lost control, sliding into the east ditch and onto its top. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $10,000.
