The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is reporting two accidents took place over the past couple of weeks. On October 14th,deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at 3^rd and Locust Streets in Anita. A 2008 Chevy Silverado owned and driven by 53-year old David Alan Hockenberry,  of Anita, was northbound on Locust Street when it was struck by an eastbound 2012 Buick owned and driven by 81-year old Gloria Ruth Turner, of Anita, when Turner failed to yield at a stop sign. No injuries were reported. Damage to Hockenberry’s vehicle is estimated at $1,500; damage to Turner’s vehicle is estimated at $2,500. Turner was cited for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.

And, on October 22nd, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident on 590^th Street ¼ mile south of Quincy Road. A 2008 Jeep Liberty driven by 43-year old Katherine Jean Bellmyer, of Griswold, was northbound on 590^th Street when the vehicle lost control, sliding into the east ditch and onto its top. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $10,000.
