One person was transported by Medivac Ambulance to the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Sunday evening, following a collision that took place just before 5-p.m. at the intersection of 7th and Chestnut Streets. Atlantic Police Officer Caleb Smith told KJAN News the male driver of a white Buick ran a stop sign as it was traveling east on 7th Street. The car struck a Chevy Suburban heading south on Chestnut at the south side of the intersection.

The driver of the Suburban and a child who was properly secured in a child safety seat, were not injured. No names were immediately available. Atlantic Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
