Sheriff’s officials in Union County report a Shannon City man was arrested Saturday night. 28-year old Jeffrey Michael Hoffman was taken into custody at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for violation of a no contact/protective order, and a Union County warrant for extortion.  Hoffman was also arrested for assault use/display of a weapon, and domestic abuse assault display or use of weapon.  He was being held in the Union County Jail on $7,000 bond.

And, a Union County man reported to authorities Friday morning, that sometime in the previous few days, someone had entered his shop on 130^th Street and taken two rolls of copper wire, a bale  monitor, and stripped the wiring in the shed.  The loss was estimated at $3,200.
