(HawkeyeSports.Com says) It’s been 17 years since the University of Iowa men’s basketball team has advanced to the Sweet 16, but there is a chance that could change today (Sunday).  After Friday’s thrilling first-round victory over Temple, the 24th ranked Hawkeyes return to Barclay’s Center for a second-round bout with the sixth-ranked Villanova Wildcats. A trip to the “Sweet 16” in Louisville is on the line.

If history between the Hawkeyes and Wildcats points to anything, you can expect another tough, back-and-forth battle. The last time these two programs met was in the title game of the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas. Villanova squeaked by with an 88-83 overtime victory in a game that saw eight lead changes.

Pre-game coverage on KJAN begins today at 10-a.m., with the tip-off set for 11:10.
