Police in Waukee are responding to reports of shots fired early this (Wednesday) morning. KCCI-TV reports Officers were called to Southeast Olson and Southeast Brick drives in Waukee at 8 a.m. Dallas County authorities said the high school and Prairie View Elementary are under a lockdown. At 8:38 a.m., Waukee school officials made the following statement on Facebook:

“Waukee Police Department has notified the district of an incident off school grounds. As a precautionary measure Waukee High School and Prairieview are on lockdown due to the external threat. No one may enter or leave the building. All students are safe.”
