Authorities in Crawford County say a traffic stop just south of Denison Saturday resulted in the arrest of the driver on drug charges. The Sheriff’s Dept. said 38-year old Ross Eugene McCall, of Denison, was arrested on serious misdemeanor charges that include Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Methamphetmaine,  simple misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to obey a traffic signal control device charges, as well as an aggravated misdemeanor charge of Carrying Weapons.

Officials say prior to McCall being pulled over on 260th Street, he allegedly threw contraband out of the vehicle. The Crawford County K9 “Bayou” and his partner arrived on scene. The dog alerted to the odor of narcotics, resulting in the recovery of two baggies of illegal substances.  During the search of the vehicle, Deputies also found a loaded pistol, which was seized along with the drugs.

McCall’s bond is set at $2,000.
