…FOG IS DEVELOPING EARLY THIS MORNING…

PATCHY FOG HAS DEVELOPED OVER MUCH OF THE REGION EARLY TODAY. SOME DENSE FOG HAS FORMED OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL IOWA FROM ESTHERVILLE TO NEAR ALGONA WHERE VISIBILITY HAS DROPPED TO NEAR ONE QUARTER MILE. ELSEWHERE…FOG MAY THICKEN TOWARD SUNRISE ACROSS THE AREA.

PERSONS TRAVELING THIS MORNING SHOULD REMAIN CAUTIOUS AND VIGILANT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING VISIBILITY CONDITIONS. IF YOU ENCOUNTER AREAS OF FOG…SLOW DOWN…USE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS…ALLOW EXTRA DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND ANY VEHICLES…AND BE MINDFUL OF INTERSECTIONS AND RAILROAD CROSSINGS AS VEHICLES AND TRAINS MAY BE HIDDEN FROM VIEW BECAUSE OF THE LOW VISIBILITY DUE TO THE FOG.

THE FOG SHOULD BEGIN TO LIFT AFTER SUNRISE WITH CONDITIONS IMPROVING BY 8 TO 9 AM CDT THIS MORNING.
