THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OMAHA HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR…
MONTGOMERY COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST IOWA…

* UNTIL 930 AM CDT

* AT 636 AM CDT…DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AROUND TWO INCHES OF RAIN
HAS ALREADY FALLEN OVER MUCH OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY. THIS WILL CAUSE
MINOR FLOODING OF STREETS…ROADS…AND SMALL STREAMS THROUGHOUT
THE COUNTY.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE…
RED OAK…VILLISCA…STANTON…ELLIOTT…GRANT…COBURG AND VIKING
LAKE STATE PARK.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF ONE TO TWO INCHES IS EXPECTED OVER THE
AREA…LEADING TO CONTINUED FLOODING THROUGH 930 AM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE…TURN AROUND…DONT DROWN.
