The Harlan Police Department on Wednesday, released a culmulative report on arrests and incident investigations. Officials say on June 27th, 27-year old Trent Nielsen, of Avoca, was arrested for speeding, and on an OWI charge. On Tuesday, 35-year old Randall Price, Jr., of Harlan, was arrested on Public Intoxication, Possession of a Controlled Substance and 5th Degree Theft, charges. His arrest followed a report of a male subject riding a bicycle and drinking, who allegedly, nearly struck two children.

On Monday, Harlan Police arrested 18-year old Lacey Bird, of Harlan, on a charge of domestic  abuse assault, after officers were called to an altercation between Bird and her sister, at Birds’ residence. Last Sunday, 25-year old Thomas Voge, of Harlan, was arrested on an OWI charge, following a traffic stop. He was also cited for speeding, and having an improper rear lamp. And, last Saturday, three person were cited following an operation by the Harlan P-D, to ensure sellers of alcohol in the City, were properly identifying underage persons attempting to buy booze. Receiving citations for attempting to sell alcohol to persons under the legal age, was: 31-year old Kay Reetz, of Dunlap; 29-year old Melissa Waters, and 26-year old Jason Crouse, both of Harlan.

During the previous weekend, five people were charged with Possession of Alcohol by Persons Under the Legal Age, following a tip about a party where teenagers were drinking booze. Those receiving citations include: 16-year old Caleb Rihner, and 18-year old’s Austin Kesterson, Shawn Hansen all of Harlan; 18-year old Taylor Murray, of Carroll, and 19-year old Alexandra Fox, of Ankeny. All 5 teens were cited and released.
