The Iowa State Patrol says a Council Bluffs man was transported to the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, following an accident Sunday afternoon just off of Interstate 80 in Adair County. Officials say 45-year old Michael J. Bersane, of Council Bluffs, was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry eastbound on I-80 and attempting to take the Casey exit (Exit 83), when he lost control of the car. The vehicle went off the exit ramp and came to rest on its wheels in the ditch between the exit ramp in I-80. The accident happened at around 12:20-p.m. The Patrol says Bersane, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to CCMH by Stuart Rescue for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
