(Radio Iowa) – Iowa Lottery sales remain up into this final month of the state fiscal year. Cassandra Trenary from the marketing department told the Iowa Lottery Board today (Wednesday) that overall sales are nearly 432 million dollars.”Through the end of May, we’re up seven-point-one (7.1) percent versus fiscal year ’25, exceeding budget by seven-point-six-five percent,” she says.Trenary says scratch ticket sales are holding steady.
“May saw a very slight decrease at point-two percent, but primarily flat,” she says. Proceeds returned to the state through May are just over 88 million dollars — which is ahead of last last year by around seven million dollars. Trenary says a bright spot for sales has been the lotto category — which is up 30 percent. “Coming in at over 117 million with Power Ball leading the bulk of this, with recent jackpot promotions that are contributing to that,” she says. “And with the February 2026 launch of the new “Millionaire for Life” game It has generated three-point-six-seven million (dollars) in its three months reported,” Trenary says.
She says the Insta Play category is up nearly 12 percent this fiscal year and pull tab sales are up nearly eight percent. The Lottery’s fiscal year ends on June 30th.
