(Greenfield, IA) – The Adair County Board of Supervisors, in a very brief session this (Wednesday) morning, unanimously approved a 28-E agreement with Guthrie County, for Public Health Services. Board Chair Jerry Walker said the agreement was reviewed and approved by Adair County Attorney Melissa Larson. The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors formally approved the agreement during their meeting on June 30th.
Under the agreement, Guthrie County will provide essential public health services like immunizations, grant administration, emergency preparedness, and community health assessments to Adair County residents. Guthrie County Public Health staff will travel to Adair County a few times a week to fulfill those public health duties.
Guthrie County Director of Health Services Jotham Arbor previously mentioned the agreement is only for one year at this time, because the State is looking to regionalize county led health services, and the situation may change by the end of the year.
A 28E agreement allows local government agencies (like counties) to work together and share services or resources. For questions regarding Public Health programs or services, please contact: Guthrie County Public Health at 641-747-3972.
