(Council Bluffs, IA) – Officials with the Council Bluffs Police Department say five people are facing charges in connection with two recent robbery investigations. According to the report, at around 10:30-p.m. Monday (June 1st), Council Bluffs Police Officers were dispatched to Fas Mart, at 503 9th Avenue, for a robbery. An investigation revealed that a group of several people, both males and females, robbed 31-year-old Joseph Brown, of Lawrence, Kansas, taking his wallet and cell phone. The suspects fled in a silver Chevy Equinox.
At 11:07 pm, another robbery was reported, this time near South 11th Street and 2nd Avenue. Officers were given the same description of the suspects as the robbery that occurred 40 minutes earlier. During this incident, 28-year-old Dominic Henton, of Council Bluffs, was robbed of his wallet, cell phone and bicycle.
A short time later, officers located the Equinox at 924 6th Avenue in Council Bluffs. The Council Bluffs Police Department’s Emergency Services Team executed a search warrant at that residence and several adults and juveniles were located and detained. One Subject, Kendall McNeese initially refused to exit the residence and K9 Hauser was deployed to apprehend him. He was treated for a dog bite but was not seriously injured.
Through the investigation, detectives established probable cause to arrest the following subjects:
- 25-year-old Jermany Clark was charged with two-counts of Robbery in the 2nd degree, one count Robbery 1st, one count Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony and one count Serious Assault.
- 25-year-old Kendall McNeese was charged with Interference with Official Acts, one count Robbery 2nd and one count Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony.
- 18-year-old Janelle Lewis was charged with two counts of Robbery in the 2nd degree, one count of Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony.
- 20-year-old Jaylin McNeese was charged with two counts of Robbery in the 2nd degree, one count Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony. And,
- a 17 year old male was also charged with two counts of Robbery 2nd and one count Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony.

Police say their investigation is ongoing as detectives continue to process several pieces of evidence at the scene possibly linking these suspects to several other robberies that have occurred recently in Council Bluffs.
The public is reminded that the charges are not evidence against the defendants, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
