BRIDGEWATER, IA – The Bridgewater Fire Department has received a donation of emergency drinking water from Anheuser-Busch to support firefighter hydration during wildfire response efforts. This donation was made in partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) to provide critical resources for first responders working in extreme conditions.
On June 26, 2026, Doll Distributing, Anheuser-Busch’s local wholesaler partner, delivered over 2,300 cans of water. This supply ensures that firefighters have access to clean drinking water during wildfires and other emergencies where hydration is essential for safety and performance.

“We are grateful to Anheuser-Busch, the National Volunteer Fire Council, and Doll Distributing for this donation,” said Fire Chief Daryl Christensen. “This support is vital for our firefighters’ safety and health.”
Department Treasurer Doug Miller, who authored the grant, noted that the water will also be shared with several neighboring fire departments to assist with regional safety efforts.
Anheuser-Busch has a long history of disaster relief dating back to 1906. Since 1988, the company has donated more than 100 million cans of water to communities in need. Through its partnership with the NVFC, established in 2019, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesalers have provided nearly 12 million cans of water to volunteer fire departments across the country.
The NVFC is the leading nonprofit association representing the interests of volunteer fire, EMS, and rescue services, dedicated to supporting volunteer responders and their communities.
