Northern Iowa coach Todd Stepsis will go up against his former school when the Panthers host Drake. Stepsis was head coach of the Bulldogs from 2019 to 2024 and led them to back-to-back Pioneer Football League championships. This Drake team features a fast paced style of offense.
Stepsis says the key for the defense is getting lined up correctly.
Drake is 0-2, but Stepsis feels the Bulldogs played much better in a 45-10 loss at third ranked Montana than they did in a season opening loss to South Dakota Mines.
Radio Iowa attempted to contact Drake coach Matt Walker for his comments about the game but was unsuccessful.
