(Greenfield, IA) – The Adair County Board of Supervisors have passed a FY 26 Budget Amendment Resolution as published. Their action followed a Public Hearing that took place this (Wednesday) morning, during the Board’s weekly meeting. The Board also passed a related Appropriations Resolution.
They also discussed, at the request of Supervisor Jodie Hoadley, Local Option Sales Tax Revenue (LOST) and the use of those funds for the Secondary Roads Department. Hoadley said those funds should be used to cover the unfunded State mandate.
Board Chair Jerry Walker…
Hoadley said that money can be put into the General Fund, and from that give what’s needed to Secondary Roads, since it would provide some “wiggle room.” She made a motion to put the matter in the hands of the voters for the November General Election…
The motion died for lack of a second. The Adair County Supervisors discussed also, a shared director of public health position. During their meeting on May 19th, Guthrie County Health Services Director Jotham Arbor reported to the Guthrie County Supervisors that the agreement would be a year-by-year agreement, which would be similar to the one they have with Audubon County and submitted a proposal to that effect. The Guthrie County Board took no action on the proposal.
Adair County Supervisor Jodie Hoadley was of the mindset, Wednesday, that the County should advertise to fill the position, so they can see if there is any interest. Before anything is decided, though, the Board intends to talk with Jotham Arber during their regular meeting on May 27th.
The Adair County Supervisors also discussed the appointment of a County Auditor, in-light of the recent announcement current Auditor Mandy Berg is resigning, effective June 4, 2026, which would cover the Primary Election process. Berg has served the County for 15-years. The County has until July 5th to appoint her successor.
No action was taken on any of the discussion items.
