2 injured in NW Iowa crash

(Spencer, IA) – A collision this (Tuesday) morning in northwest Iowa resulted in the drivers of the vehicles being transported to a local hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol reports the accident happened at around 6:40-a.m. east of Spencer, when a 2021 Acura driven by 30-year-old Sidhanth Pillai, of Spencer, ran the stop sign at the intersection with Highway M54 and Highway 18. The car was traveling south on M54 when it hit a westbound 2020 Chevy Equinox, driven by 36-year-old Tyle Olson, of Ayrshire.

Both drivers – who were wearing their seat belts – were transported to the hospital in Spencer, by Spencer Ambulance. The Patrol says Pillai was cited for Failure to Obey a Stop sign.
