Severe storms that formed in eastern Nebraska early this (Thursday) morning, raced eastward into southwest and western Iowa, pounding many areas with wind ranging from 55-to as high as 90-miles per hour, large hail and heavy rain that resulted in flash flooding. The National Weather Service Offices in Omaha/Valley, NE., and Des Moines, have compiled a chronology of the storm events and aftermath, reported by storm spotters, Automated and Personal Weather Stations, and MESONET sites (A regional network of observing stations (usually surface stations) designed to diagnose mesoscale weather features and their associated processes).
