Drake Relays director Blake Boldon says the world track and field schedule is hoping them attact professionals to compete in this month’s event. Boldon says the U-S Championships in July are the biggest proze on the schedule and many athletes are seeking out early outdoor events to take part in.
Boldon says it will be the first time since the pandemic shutdown in 2020 there are no World Championships.
The relays announced a star studded field that compete in the pole vault, both in the Jordan Creek Town Center and in the stadium. It includes the top two women’s pole vaulters in the world in Katie Moon and Sandi Morris. Olympic silver medalist KC Lightfoot will highlight the men’s field.
The Drake Relays are April 22nd through the 25th.
