Wailes and DeVore Win SWIFT Tournament Trail Stop at Lake of Three Fires

BEDFORD, Iowa — Jake Wailes and Holden DeVore from Atlantic captured the Powerade High School Division championship during the fourth stop of the Firman Power Equipment/KWF/Fast Metal TBF SWIFT Tournament Trail at Lake of Three Fires.

Wailes and DeVore with their boat captain Rob Clausen brought an impressive five-bass limit weighing 17.22 pounds to the SlideMaster Championship Stage, powered by Firman Power Equipment. They edged Sawyer Goss and Augi Precht, who placed second with 16.73 pounds. Dawson Schenck and Field Vande Noord finished third with 12.12 pounds.

DeVore also earned the Keith Harlan–AM Cohron & Sons Big Bass Award with a massive 6.46-pound largemouth bass. The fish was the largest brought to the scales and marked DeVore’s personal-best bass caught during a high school tournament.

In the Fairlife Junior Division, Brendan Wilke and Brody Frederickson of Atlantic continued their outstanding season by winning with a five-fish limit weighing 10.11 pounds. Tristan Kinnaman and Aiden Kruger placed second with 8.48 pounds.

The tournament began after a two-hour delay caused by lightning and heavy rain. Despite the challenging start, Lake of Three Fires produced excellent fishing, with every participating team bringing a five-fish limit to the championship stage.
