The NCAA Women’s basketball Tournament begins Thursday night in Carver-Hawkeye Arena when Virginia plays Arizona State in the First Four. The winner will advance to play Georgia in Saturday’s first round. Junior guard Kymora Johnson averages 19 points per game and has led Virginia back to the tournament for the first time since 2018.

Virginia coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton has been to Carver-Hawkeye Arena before. She spent eight years as an assistant coach in the Big Ten at Michigan State and Indiana.
