Upper Iowa takes momentum heading into Saturday’s season opener at home against Jamestown of North Dakota. The Peacocks have posted back-to-back winning seasons and last year’s 9-3 record was the best in program history.
That’s Upper Iowa coach Jason Hoskins, who says expectations within the program have changed.
With only five starters returning there are a lot of holes to fill. Hoskins says running back and linebacker are their deepest position groups.
Three year starter Darryl Overstreet at quarterback is gone. Hoskins says UMass transfer Zamar (zuh-mar) Wise gets the nod over former backup Clark Coleman.
Jamestown enters Saturday’s game with a new head coach and he is no stranger to Hoskins.
