Northern Iowa forward Ian Smikle (smy-kull) hopes to give the Panthers a boost on the front line this season. The six-eight Smikle averaged more than three points and nearly four rebounds as a sophomore at Tulsa and feels UNI is a good fit for him.
With an expanded role Smikle hopes to take his game to the next level.
Smikle says former UNI standout and Panther assistant coach Seth Tuttle has been a big plus for him.
The Panthers open the regular season at home on November third against Cornell College.
