Tran Earns Second-Team All-American Honors

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa sophomore Aurélie Tran was named a Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association regular-season second-team All-American on bars and in the all-around, the WCGA announced Monday.

Tran is the first gymnast in program history to earn second-team honors in two events and the first Hawkeye All-American since JerQuavia Henderson in 2023.

The Repentigny, Quebec, native was the only GymHawk to compete in the all-around in every meet this season. She finished the regular season ranked 13th nationally and fifth in the Big Ten with a 39.470 National Qualifying Score (NQS). Tran also ranks 15th nationally and third in the conference on bars with a 9.925 NQS and has a team-high six bars titles this season.

On March 6, Tran posted a career-high 39.600 in the all-around, tying for the 10th-best mark in program history. In the same meet, she matched the program’s all-time bars record with a 9.975. She later earned a share of the Big Ten bars title, posting a 9.950 to finish in a six-way tie.

The Hawkeyes will compete in the NCAA Corvallis Regional on April 3 at 9 p.m. CT at Gill Coliseum. Iowa will face No. 4 UCLA, No. 13 Minnesota and the winner of a play-in meet between Washington and San José State. The top two teams advance to the regional final April 5. The meet will air on ESPN+.
