Iowa senior forward Cam Manyawu says the Hawkeye men are confident but still have a lot to prove as they go through summer workouts. The Hawkeyes finished 24-13 in Ben McCollum’s first season as head coach, including a run to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
Manyawu says they want to improve upon last season’s ninth place finish in the Big Ten. It starts with being more consistent.
Manyawu says the Hawkeyes are not satisfied with how last season ended.
After a standout freshman season, Tate Sage is one of 10 players returning from last season.
After being undersized all of last season the Hawkeyes added size in the middle. Seven-three center Andrew McKeever transferred from St. Mary’s of California and Sage says that will change how the Hawkeyes play.
McKeever says Iowa’s potential was a big reason he joined the program.
Storm Lake native Jaidyn Coon is one of two incoming freshmen and says the loss to Illinois in the Elite Eight has provided motivation.
