Summer workouts continue for Northern Iowa basketball

Northern Iowa basketball coach Kyle Green says team chemistry and strength and conditioning have been the focus of summer drills. Green is getting ready for his first season as head coach for a prpgram that is coming off a Missouri Valley Tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Eight newcomers are part of the roster and Green has been pleased with the six players who stayed on from last season.

Green says summer is also a time when teams establish how they will play.

Senior forward Kyle Pock (poke) is the most experienced returnee. The native of Missouri says there have been a few changes under Green’s leadership.

Pock says the biggest change is on the defensive end of the court.

Pock feels the Panthers have become connected during the summer.
