Summer workouts continue for Iowa women’s basketball

Sophomore Journey Houston is looking to up her perimeter game during summer workouts with the Iowa Hawkeye women’s basketball team. The Davenport native appeared in all 34 games last season and averaged just over five points per game. She was four of 11 from three point range.

Houston says with some changes on the offensive end she wants to be more of a threat from behind the arc.

Junior guard Chit Chat Wright is one of three starters returning from a team that finished 27-7 but she has been motivated by watching a tape of an upset loss to Virginia in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Wright averaged 12 and-a-half points for the Hawkeyes last season. She is joined on the Iowa squad by Georgia transfer Dani Carnegie. Both were freshmen at Georgia Tech two years ago.

Carnegie averaged nearly 18 points last season at Georgia in being named first team All SEC.
