The preseason Radio Iowa/Baseball Coaches Association High School Poll is out. Radio Iowa’s Dar Danielson reports.
(as said) Pleasantville in Class 2-A is the only returning champion at the top of the poll for the four classes. Cascade, Roland Story, Grundy Center and Iowa City Regina round out the top five. Class 1-A runner-up Martensdale-St. Mary’s is ranked number one followed by Coon Rapids-Bayard, defending champ Saint Ansgar, Wapsie Valley and East Buchanan.
MOC-Floyd Valley leads Class 3-A, followed by Carlisle, Bishop Heelan, 2025 runner-up Dubuque Wahlert Catholic and Marion. Sioux City East leads the 4-A poll after falling in the quarterfinals last year. Waukee, Cedar Rapids Prairie, West Des Moines Valley and Johnston round out the top five.
