The Northwestern College football team opens the new season on Thursday night with a visit to FCS Wstern Illinois, The Red Raiders missed the NAIA playoffs for the first time since 2016 last season after finishing 6-4.

The Red Raiders return eight starters from a defense that led the NAIA ranks by giving up just over 12 and-a-half points per game.
