Northern Iowa has been picked as the preseason favorite in the Missouri Valley Conference volleyball race. The Panthers have won four straight Valley regular season and tournament titles an garnered nine of 11 first place votes.
That’s Panther coach Bobbi Peterson, who has led UNI to a 69-1 record in conference play the last four years.
Drake has been picked to finish second. UNI opens Friday by taking on Georgia Tech in a tournament at Iowa State.
