The 18th ranked Iowa Hawkeyes close out nonconference action on Saturday by hosting Northern Iowa. The Hawkeyes are around a 40-point favorite but coach Kirk Ferentz says each week of the season provides shocking results.
Ferentz says the Panthers play with tremendous effort and says he saw that during last year’s 3-9 season.
The Hawkeyes were limited to 93 yards of rushing in the win over Iowa State and Ferentz expects more opponents to load up against the ground game.
UNI coach Todd Stepsis does not feel they are catching the Hawkeyes at the right time after a Cy-Hawk win.
Stepsis says the Hawkeyes will be ready.
Stepsis says the Panthers need to survive the early moments of the game.
Stepsis says the Panthers need to find a way to stay in the game.
It is the eighth meeting in the series and the first since a 38-14 Hawkeye victory back in 2018.
