Iowa receiver Tony Diaz made an immediate impact on the Iowa offense in the season opener. The native of Texas had seven catches for 84 yards and a touchdown in the 21st ranked Hawkeyes’ 40-0 win over Northern Illinois.
Diaz says he needs to continue to work on getting in game shape and he hopes to take the next step on Saturday against Iowa State.
Diaz thought the opener was a good first step for an Iowa offense that hopes to create more big plays this season.
