Iowa sophomore Tate Sage is ready for a larger roll next season. The native of Oklahoma played in all 37 games a season ago and averaged over six points per game. With the top three scorers gone from a team that made a run to the Elite Eight Sage is expected to carry more of the scoring load.
Even with a larger role Sage will play with a chip on his shoulder. Lightly recruited out of high school, Sage committed to Drake and then followed Ben McCollum to Iowa City where he saw extensive playing time as a freshman.
The Hawkeyes are in the midst of summer workouts.
