Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz previews Northwestern

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says the coaches and players are rallying around junior defensive end Drew Campbell. The native of Cedar Falls is the brother of former Hawkeye and Detroit Lion’s star Jack Campbell, who suffered a serious neck injury in Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Starting center Cael Winter was injured in Saturday’s win over Wsconsin and sixth year senior Michael Myslinski (miss-lin-ski) will get the start on Saturday when the Hawkeyes visit Northwestern.

Iowa’s has been known for playing its best football in November and Ferentz hopes that continues. It is part of a formula for success in a conference race that starts with winning on the road.

The first College Football Playoff ranking will be released Tuesday night (tonight). Ferentz was asked if he will be playing attention.
