Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says they plan to continue rotating quarterbacks in Saturday night’s 73rd meeting against Iowa State. Hank Brown and Jeremy Hecklinski both played in a 40-0 season opening win over Northern Illinois.
Brown was 12-of-20 for 129 yards and a touchdown and Hecklinski was seven-of-16 for 76 yards and a score. He was also intercepted once.
The recent history of this series has featured close games and Ferentz does not expect this one to be any different.
Ferentz says on a national scale it is an under appreciated rivalry in a state with outstanding college football.
Ferentz says while it is a great rivalry he is careful not to put too much emphasis on the outcome.
