Iowa women’s basketball coach Jan Jensen says the new “five-for-five” rule adopted by the NCAA is the latest series of dramatic changes to the college landscape. The new standard will grant athletes five years to complete five seasons of competition.
Even with additional years to play Jensen expects roster turnover to continue.
The Hawkeyes are in the midst of summer workouts. Six newcomers join five returning players from a team that finished 27-7 and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Jensen says freshman forward Ell Stromdahl from Sweden won’t join the team until the fall.
