Iowa State gets ready for its first Big 12 road game when the Cyclones visit eighth ranked BYU Friday night. ISU is 1-1 in the league race and 3-2 overall after a win over West Virginia.
That’s ISU coach Jimmy Rogers, who says they are working to fix a defense that gave up 42 points against West Virginia. Rogers says the coaches are a part of that.
For The Cyclones it is a short week and a night game that is played at elevation. None of that matters to Rogers.
Rogers says BYU dual threat quarterback Bear Bachmeier (bawk-my-ur) is tough to slow down. Bachmeier has passed for 704 yards and six touchdowns. He also averages nearly 5 yards a carry and has four rushing touchdowns.
