Iowa State quarterback Jaylen Raynor says the Cyclones are not focused on outside expectations as they get ready for the season. Most of the pre-season polls have the Cyclones at or near the bottom of the Big 12 as they get ready for the first season under Jimmy Rogers.
After three years as the starter at Arkansas State, Raynor takes over a new Cyclone offense that will feature huddling and pre-snap play calling.
The Cyclones are two practices into fall camp. They will have their first practice in full pads on Friday.
Senior tight end Tyler Fortenberry is also a transfer from Arkansas State. He says the Cyclones are ignoring all the pre-season polls.
Fortenberry says he is adjusting to Iowa State and a new style of offense.
The Cyclones open September fifth at home against Southeast Missouri.
