A late rally fell short as the Iowa State men lost to Creighton 83-80 in exhibition college basketball in Ames. The Cyclones roared back from a 19 point second half deficit but Leon Bond’s game tying three pointer was off the mark at the buzzer.
That’s Cyclone coach T.J. Otzelberger. ISU outrebounded Creighton 37-36 but Otzelberger was not happy with the effort on the boards in the opening half.
Sophomore guard Jamarion Batemon led six Cyclones in double figures with 15 points. Sophomore forward Dom Pleta (play-tuh) had 10 points and seven rebounds
The Cyclones will close exhibition play next Sunday at Northwestern.
