Iowa State defensive tackle Max Baloun (balloon) says the challenge of playing for Iowa State and in the Big 12 was too good to pass up. After starting his career at South Dakota State, Baloun followed coach Jimmy Rodgers to Washington State and did not hesitate when Rodgers was named the new coach for the Cyclones. It will be his seventh season of college football
Baloun on the challenger of playing for his third different program.
Baloun says getting to know his new teammates has been important with a roster that features fewer than 50 returning players.
Baloun was granted a medical redshirt after suffering a season ending knee injury at Washington State and will be limited this spring.
Cyclone coach Jimmy Rodgers says Baloun is one of only a couple of players who will be limited in spring drills.
Rodgers says most of the offense and defense will be installed by the end of spring.
