The Iowa football coaching staff has been known for its stability. Running backs coach is an exception. Former Hawkeye player and Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell is the third different coach for the running backs in three years.
That’s redshirt sophomore running back Xavier Williams, who has enjoyed working with Norvell this spring.
Williams is looking to improve his overall game after tallying 285 yards last season in his first action.
The Hawkeyes close spring drills with an open practice on Saturday.
