Iowa quarterback Hank Brown is questionable for Friday night’s game at Washington. Brown sprained his throwing shoulder in a 31-14 loss to fifth ranked Ohio State. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz.
If Brown cant go, Jeremy Hecklinski will get the start. He competed with Brown for the starting job since the end of last season.
Ferentz says they can’t count on Brown being ready to start the game.
Ferentz says after a close quarterback competition they have confidence in Hecklinski.
Whoever starts at quarterback would benefit from an effective run game. The ground game has been pitiful against quality competition. The Hawkeyes had only 39 rushing yards against Ohio State.
Brown says he is doing what it takes to get ready to play.
Even with the short week to prepare Brown expects to play.
With a bye week coming up, Brown will have added time to heal if he needs it.
