Iowa QB battle resumes

With fall camp underway at Iowa the quarterback competition resumes at Iowa where Hank Brown a Jeremy Hecklinski are vying for the job. Brown began last season as the backup to Mark Gronowski and says the competition began when the coaches decided against finding an established starter in the transfer portal.

Brown says he has remained focused on getting better and not the battle for the job.

Hecklinski was elevated to backup midway through last season after transferring from Wake Forest. He had a specific goal for the off-season.

Hecklinski says under offensive coordinator Tim Lester the offense is a fit for whoever wins the job.

Hecklinski says with transfer Tony Diaz joining the team, the wide receiver corps is much improved over last season.

The Hawkeyes open at home on September fifth against Northern Illinois.
